Bentley Walker Launches Idirect Evolution Network
Across EMEA Region
Network addresses customers eager to expand iDirect-based service throughout their organizations and realize further efficiency gains
Herndon, Va., October 20, 2008 — Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited’s (ST Electronics) related US satellite communication company, VT iDirect Inc. (iDirect) today announced that Bentley Walker, a major satellite operator headquartered in the UK, has purchased an iDirect 5iF Universal Satellite Hub as well as Evolution X3 Satellite Routers and Line Cards to launch a DVB-S2/ACM network spanning multiple satellites in the EMEA region. iDirect is a world leader in satellite-based IP communications technology.
The network is being developed to satisfy Bentley Walker customers that are specifically requesting an iDirect-based next-generation service with its reputation for quality and reliability. With the Evolution network in place, Bentley Walker plans to migrate small businesses, large enterprises, government organizations and other customers to an enhanced iDirect network that will deliver data throughput improvements of up to 60% over existing services.
The increased efficiency will spur broader use of satellite broadband connectivity across a diverse range of real-time applications. In addition, through Evolution, Bentley Walker will be able to stretch its satellite capacity resources much further, supporting a larger customer base in the fast-developing Middle East and Africa markets.
Many of our customers rely on the iDirect platform to support the critical enterprise applications that drive their operations. With the introduction of an Evolution service offering, we can introduce to our customers an even higher level of network performance. We expect very strong adoption as Evolution’s results to date are surpassing our expectations.

This enables partners like Bentley Walker to expand the overall value that it delivers to its customers through next-generation services and differentiate its offerings to pursue a broader market opportunity.
